Shipley Windmill / Church mini circular Walk

Near car park

This is a short walk starting from the small Car Park (on School Lane) for Shipley Windmill. 

From the car park walk to Shipley Windmill and carry on the path with the windmill on your left.

Follow the path over the river Adur and through the woods.

When you reach Countryman Lane turn left (avoiding the burnt out car on the right) and walk along the lane.

Looking left offers some nice views of the windmill.  Turn left when you reach an entrance to a farm.

Follow on the path through the centre of the farm and cross the River Adur at the small bridge.

Remember to close the gate once you cross the bridge, cross the small field with the windmill on your left,

to a gate for the entrance to the Parish Church of Saint Mary the Virgin Shipley.

Gate to rear of the Church

Enter the grounds through the gate and explore this 12th century church built by the Knights Templar.

Watch out for the sheep amongst the gravestones!

Leave the church grounds from the main entrance and walk through the village back to the car park.
